Now available: Guideline and training material on successful e-business support measures

The project FoCus aims at fostering synergies between public policies in support of e-Business for SMEs. In this context guidelines and training material for regional actors in the field of e-Business policies were developed. Together with its partners in Italy, Spain and the Czech Republic, MFG Baden-Württemberg has developed a handbook to support planning, implementation and auditing of new e-business initiatives. In addition to outlining the success factors for regional e-business initiatives, the handbook also describes best practice examples from the four partner regions: Baden-Württemberg (Germany), Piedmont (Italy), Valencia (Spain) and Vysocina (Czech Republic). Parallel to this, a special training concept has been developed based on knowledge teaching in workshops and online seminars. The training courses are particularly targeted at representatives of trade associations and politics, who it is envisaged will subsequently act as multipliers by passing on their e-business know-how to small and medium-sized enterprises. The FoCus training concept is particularly targeted at representatives of trade associations, regional development agencies and politics, who it is envisaged will subsequently act as multipliers by passing on their e-business know-how to small and medium-sized enterprises. The objective of the training is to help these multipliers plan and implement e-business more efficiently.

University of Hildesheim

The University of Hildesheim / software systems engineering would be interested in participating in DOMCARE. We are working on adaptive systems and ambient Intelligence - in particular from the perspective of Requirements Engineering / Specification, but also from the perspective of implementation (infrastructures). University of Hildesheim is working in particular on the issue of software product lines, which amounts to the integrated development of sets of systems, which might be particularly relevant for a project that aims at the integrated development of sets of Domestic Care Systems. We work for >10 years on this topic and cooperate with a number of large organizations in this area. This was also subject of multiple European-Wide cooperations. The head of the group (Klaus Schmid) was previously department head for requirements and usability engineering at a Fraunhofer institute and was founder of an ambient intelligence lab there. Currently we are also involved in a number of industrial projects and work on a European project on context-aware systems. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Prof. Dr. Klaus Schmid University of Hildesheim Tel.: +49 (0) 5121 / 883-761 Institute of Computer Science Fax.: +49 (0) 5121 / 883-769 Marienburger Platz 22 schmid@sse.uni-hildesheim.de D-31141 Hildesheim, Germany http://www.sse.uni-hildesheim.de ----------------------------------------------------------------- The new book on Software Product Lines is out: http://www.spl-book.net -----------------------------------------------------------------
