An affordable and personalised health care system for an independent ageing

There is a social and market demand for the new, ICT based responses to care and health service provision to improve chronic disease management at home and prolong the possibility of autonomous, safe and socially fulfilling life. Many current ICT e-health applications focus on the provision of individual clinical services. There is a need for improvement of horizontal applications and for the coordination of services from different agencies and disciplines into tailored and customised packages of provision spanning both health and social care. The proposed session will exchange best practice and propose new solutions for the coordinated of the delivery and governance of complex ehealth services. It will explore the architectural and technological issues of these applications and infrastructures and investigate viable business models for innovative and low cost health services’ provision. A comparative approach with the enterprise interoperability world will be considered.

There is probably an high parallelism between the web of relationships in the manufacturing networks and the complex world of eHealth structures that are a mix of public administration and private structures.

Invitation to participate CIP ICT-PSP 1.3: Making Emergency Services Accessible to all PILOT-B

We have been ask to apply for a  ICT Policy Support Programme (ICT PSP).
Our initiative will be a Type B Pilot project, 4.5 MEuro.
This programme aims at stimulating innovation and competitiveness  through the wider uptake and best use of ICT by citizens, governments and businesses, particularly Small and Medium-sized Enterprises. The approach is based on leveraging innovation in response to growing societal demands.

As we are currently developing an innovative medical triage support solution, we like to apply a project based on the Objective 1.3: Making Emergency Services Accessible to all.

We will develop a pilot service focusing on the validation of total  conversation access to emergency services, including SMS, Web, Mobile, Landline, accessible for all across Europe.  We will have plug-ins like relay services, SMS, Speech-to-text, animation, video, etc.

For more information about the call, please visit:

University of Hildesheim

The University of Hildesheim / software systems engineering would be interested in participating in DOMCARE. We are working on adaptive systems and ambient Intelligence - in particular from the perspective of Requirements Engineering / Specification, but also from the perspective of implementation (infrastructures). University of Hildesheim is working in particular on the issue of software product lines, which amounts to the integrated development of sets of systems, which might be particularly relevant for a project that aims at the integrated development of sets of Domestic Care Systems. We work for >10 years on this topic and cooperate with a number of large organizations in this area. This was also subject of multiple European-Wide cooperations. The head of the group (Klaus Schmid) was previously department head for requirements and usability engineering at a Fraunhofer institute and was founder of an ambient intelligence lab there. Currently we are also involved in a number of industrial projects and work on a European project on context-aware systems. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Prof. Dr. Klaus Schmid University of Hildesheim Tel.: +49 (0) 5121 / 883-761 Institute of Computer Science Fax.: +49 (0) 5121 / 883-769 Marienburger Platz 22 schmid@sse.uni-hildesheim.de D-31141 Hildesheim, Germany http://www.sse.uni-hildesheim.de ----------------------------------------------------------------- The new book on Software Product Lines is out: http://www.spl-book.net -----------------------------------------------------------------
