OLDES.eu An affordable and personalised health care system for an independent ageing
Submitted by ferran on Thu, 2008-09-04 15:00.An affordable and personalised health care system for an independent ageing
There is a social and market demand for the new, ICT based responses to care and health service provision to improve chronic disease management at home and prolong the possibility of autonomous, safe and socially fulfilling life. Many current ICT e-health applications focus on the provision of individual clinical services. There is a need for improvement of horizontal applications and for the coordination of services from different agencies and disciplines into tailored and customised packages of provision spanning both health and social care. The proposed session will exchange best practice and propose new solutions for the coordinated of the delivery and governance of complex ehealth services. It will explore the architectural and technological issues of these applications and infrastructures and investigate viable business models for innovative and low cost health services’ provision. A comparative approach with the enterprise interoperability world will be considered.

Invitation to participate CIP ICT-PSP 1.3: Making Emergency Services Accessible to all PILOT-B
Our initiative will be a Type B Pilot project, 4.5 MEuro.
This programme aims at stimulating innovation and competitiveness through the wider uptake and best use of ICT by citizens, governments and businesses, particularly Small and Medium-sized Enterprises. The approach is based on leveraging innovation in response to growing societal demands.
As we are currently developing an innovative medical triage support solution, we like to apply a project based on the Objective 1.3: Making Emergency Services Accessible to all.
We will develop a pilot service focusing on the validation of total conversation access to emergency services, including SMS, Web, Mobile, Landline, accessible for all across Europe. We will have plug-ins like relay services, SMS, Speech-to-text, animation, video, etc.
For more information about the call, please visit:

Objective 1.4: ICT for ageing well with cognitive problems, combining assistive and independent living technologies
Funding instrument: Pilot B - it is intended to support several pilot actions
The objective is to significantly
improve quality of life and social care for the ageing population by combining assistive technologies
to compensate for cognitive problems or mild dementia with independent living platforms,
specifying and demonstrating the resulting innovative ICT enabled products and services.
Solutions should
provide cognitive training, activation and reinforcement for the elderly as well as
support to their day-to-day activities and social interactions.
This should result in a substantial prolongation of the time they can continue to be at home rather than in an institution.
"INCOM07-06x Network requirements for accessible conversational services";
"Guidelines and Tutorials for Improving the User Experience of Real-time Communication Services",
ETSI 2007 ICT Standardisation Action Plan; CEN guidelines; etc.
This is in line with the Communication from the Commission : European i2010 initiative on e-Inclusion "To be part of the information society"
COM(2007) 694 final of 8 November 2007 and the i2010 action plan for Ageing Well in the Information Society.ഊICT PSP Work Programme 2008
The pilots should be clearly demand driven and build on public-private partnerships.

There is probably an high parallelism between the web of relationships in the manufacturing networks and the complex world of eHealth structures that are a mix of public administration and private structures.
